Linda C. Ashar, Secretary of JMARE, is an attorney, horsewoman, writer, artist, and educator. She and her husband, Mike, operate a breeding stud at Thornapple Farms, LLC in Vermilion, Ohio. They breed Morgan horses, Connemara Ponies and rare Irish Kerry Bog Ponies. They imported the first breeding herd of Kerry Bog Ponies in the United States in 2003. Linda is a founding member, President and Registrar of the American Kerry Bog Pony Society. She is a senior partner at the law firm of Wickens, Herzer, Panza, Cook & Batista Co. of Avon, Ohio and chair of the law firm’s Labor & Employment Law Division. Linda’s law practice also includes nonprofit, agricultural and equine law. She is a member of several nonprofit organization boards.
