Top-T Glory Bea (Waseeka's Top Talent x UVM Louise)
Glory is a true inspiration. She never did fabulous things in her life, but was a loyal brood mare to all who owned or leased
her. When she was no longer productive, the decision was made to bring her back here to the farm where she was raised.
Too often older horses who are not longer productive are passed along, put down, or sent to sales for the rendering.
After being here for several years, Glory developed first thyroid problems and then Cushings Disease. The feature photo of her
on this page was taken shortly after diagnosis. Cushings is a disease that effects the pituitary gland. Horses usually develop a
long dry dull coat (most times having to be body clipped in the summer), reduction in muscle mass and lameness. When first
diagnosed two years ago, she was put on medicine to treat the Cushings and pain medication for her very sore feet. She
had some relief, but was still very unsound. By trying and adding some natural supplements to her diet, she is now sound
and in very good condition physically (see running picture taken just months ago). Our treatment plan for Glory has been
passed along to others who have horses with this condition and it has improved the lives of many older horses around the
country.
